The optional second year of training is available to students who have completed the first year of training and who wish to broaden and deepen their grasp of conceptual and technical aspects of couple therapy, through seminars and supervision of their clinical work. It also meets once a month on Sunday mornings, with subsequent small consultation groups. The second year focuses on specific topics including: working with the therapist’s self; therapeutic impasses; infidelity; separation and divorce; sexual and gender diversity in couple therapy; family therapy; race and other sociocultural dimensions in work with couples.
